Game Overview

10,000 is an exciting dice game where players compete to be the first to score 10,000 points. Players take turns rolling six dice, setting aside scoring combinations, and deciding whether to risk their accumulated points for more or bank them for safety.

Scoring Combinations

Single Dice

  • Each 1 = 100 points
  • Each 5 = 50 points
  • Other single numbers = 0 points

Three of a Kind

  • Three 1s = 1,000 points
  • Three 2s = 200 points
  • Three 3s = 300 points
  • Three 4s = 400 points
  • Three 5s = 500 points
  • Three 6s = 600 points

Special Combinations

  • Four of a kind = 1,000 points
  • Five of a kind = 2,000 points
  • Six of a kind = 3,000 points
  • Straight (1-2-3-4-5-6) = 3,000 points
  • Three pairs = 1,500 points
  • Two triplets = 2,500 points

Scoring Rules

  • Combinations must be made in a single roll
  • Dice can be scored individually or as part of combinations
  • Each die can only be used once per roll
  • All scoring dice must be set aside

How to Play

  1. On your turn, roll all six dice.
  2. After each roll:
    • Set aside any dice you want to score
    • Choose to either roll remaining dice or bank points
    • If you can't score any dice, you "bust" and lose all points for that turn
  3. First turn requirements:
    • Must score at least 500 points to get "on the board"
    • If you don't reach 500, score returns to previous total
  4. Game End:
    • When a player reaches 10,000 points, finish the round
    • All players get one final turn to try to exceed that score
    • Highest score over 10,000 wins the game

Strategy Tips

  • Early Game:
    • Take more risks to build a point lead
    • Try to score at least 1,000 points per turn
  • Mid Game:
    • Balance risk vs. reward based on opponents' scores
    • Consider banking with 500+ points if in the lead
  • End Game:
    • Calculate points needed to reach or exceed 10,000
    • Take necessary risks to catch up if behind
    • Play conservatively if you're the first to 10,000
